Embodying a key tenet of our values; we pride ourselves on being simple and straightforward to work with.
We’re the only fibre provider of scale exclusively deploying XGS-PON architecture, capable of symmetrical speeds of up to 10Gbps, and we take great pride in the quality of our build to ensure it is fit for the future.
This combined with our rapidly increasing footprint across the UK, makes us a natural choice for ambitious ISPs who prioritise quality, stability and customer experience.
We’re proud of our partnership with Virgin Media O2; as our wholesale customer it provides us with a significant baseline of market penetration and evidences the quality and technical capability of our network.
nexfibre and Virgin Media O2 together intend to wholesale both networks, with a combined footprint of up 23 million premises by 2028, to other internet service providers creating a national-scale operator, boosting choice and competition in the market.

Architecture and auditing
As part of our commitment to build a full fibre network that’s fit for the future, we have designed the core architecture with resilience, accessibility and longevity in mind.
Here’s what you need to know about our approach to network architecture:
- Full XGS-PON technology set, capable of symmetrical speeds of up to 10Gbps
- Stable and secure supply chain from edge to core – we don’t procure services or equipment from high-risk vendors
- Highly scalable platform with generous capacity provision from access to core built at the outset, underpinned by a suite of network monitoring tools
- Key network consolidation points are dual-homed whenever possible, and active equipment has redundancy mechanisms built-in
- Network design locates last distribution point at property curtilage or nearest served pole for ease of subsequent customer provisioning, with a weighted average of 50m for drop-cable connections into premises
At nexfibre, we’re proud to insist on great build quality and accurate inventory across our network. Our in-house audit team personally visit every build as part of service acceptance, conducting a thorough inspection including:
- Reinstatement condition
- Suitability of cabinet locations
- Cabinet build condition, including environmental protections and labelling
- Fibre routing and management
- Adherence to PIA specifications
- Validation of fibre-testing results and pass criteria
- Cross-checking of physical build with inventory records
